qplex Arena

Take in a hockey game or enjoy public skating at the qplex Arena! The rink is a National Hockey League-sized ice surface surrounded by more than 1,100 seats, with a total capacity of 1,500. The arena is home to the U18 AAA Fundy Kraken and the Saint John Vito’s AAA U18 hockey teams.

It has hosted several Hockey Canada events, including the 2023 Para Hockey Cup, a USA vs. Finland pretournament game ahead of the 2023 IIHF World Junior Championship, the 2018 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge (co-host), and the 2016 Telus Cup (now known as the Men’s U18 National Club Championship).

The indoor walking track doubles as the arena concourse.

More than just ice

Graduation ceremonies, cheerleading and dance competitions have also been held at the qplex.

The ice is in at the qplex throughout the year and is available for private rentals while also being used for community-organized on ice programs like minor hockey.

We offer several free skating programs, including Public Skating, the Adult/Senior Skate, Tykes with Sticks, and the Parent and Tot Skate.
The qplex arena canteen is open during most games and events in the fall and winter.

Dressing Rooms

On-ice competitors and players have a separate entrance from the public which you can access on the south side of the building, through the lower parking lot, at the qplex.

We have six dressing rooms for competitors and players. Two are considered oversized. There are also two dressing rooms for on-ice officials and referees.

All dressing rooms are equipped with heated floors, stick racks, washrooms and showers.

Important Information

Liability Insurance

All bookings are required to have liability insurance.

If you carry Commercial General Liability Insurance, please provide a copy with the addition of the Town of Quispamsis as insured.

You can also apply for insurance using the Town's Facility User Liability Insurance Program.

You must have no less than $5 million per occurrence against all claims for bodily/personal injury including and resulting in death and property damage.

Fees and Damage Deposit

50% of the rental fee is non-refundable.
50% of the rental fees are due upon booking.
Remaining 50% and liability insurance is due eight (8) weeks before your event date.
Rental fees must be paid in full if booked fewer than eight (8) weeks prior to your event date.
$250 damage deposit is refundable 5 business days after your event pending a facility inspection.

Cancellation

Notice, in writing, must be given to the Town of Quispamsis at least eight (8) weeks before the rental date.

Any cancellation notice given fewer than eight weeks before the event date will result in the whole rental fee being forfeited, and only the damage deposit refunded.

Ice Rinks

Fall and Winter: Cancellation of ice time, tournaments, and any special events must be submitted in writing at least six (6) weeks in advance.

Spring and Summer: Cancellation of ice time, tournaments, and any special events must be submitted in writing at least fifteen (15) weeks in advance.
