Councillor Doug MacDonald

Councillor Doug MacDonald is serving his first term on Quispamsis Council.

Doug has called Quispamsis home for 35 years, having moved to the area after graduating with a BBA from St.F.X. University.  Since 1987, he has served the Greater Saint John area as a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA).

Throughout his career, Doug has given back to his community through leadership roles in charitable organizations, including as President of the Greater Saint John Community Foundation, Festival by the Sea and many others.

Doug is married to Marla MacDonald. Their blended family includes four adult children and five grandchildren.  In his spare time, you can find Doug on the golf course, pickleball court, curling rink or on the road following one or more sports teams.

Doug is committed to sound financial management and accountability in municipal spending, supporting thoughtful, responsible growth and development, advocating with other levels of government to address tax and affordability issues that matter to local families, and maintaining the strong residential character that makes the town special.
