Current Work
Meenan’s Cove Road (Cobblestone Drive to Rockefeller Drive) - Project complete.
Princeton Avenue - Temporary mailbox on Queensbury will be relocated behind the sidewalk at its original location, signage installation and general clean up.
Winchester Drive - Sod will be removed and an asphalt access will be placed between the new sidewalk and mailbox, signage installation and general clean up.
Model Farm Road - Landscaping and driveways are being completed. New stop sign will be installed at Hammond River Road intersection.
Old Neck Road - Landscaping and driveways being completed.
Neck Road - Landscaping and driveways being completed.
Quispamsis Road - Rapid Flash Beacons will be installed at the new crosswalk once they are received.
Kensington Avenue - New signage will be installed and general clean up.
Forresters Road - Project complete.
Palmer Brook Road - Awaiting a Watercourse and Wetland Alteration (WAWA) permit from the Province of New Brunswick so a cross culvert can be installed. Road widening to construct a slip lane onto Elliot Road to follow.
Detours
While it is anticipated the duration of construction on each street will be limited, motorists are advised to expect traffic delays during the construction period. The Town will make every effort to maintain one lane open at all times or ensure flag persons will be on site to direct traffic through the construction area.
Model Farm Road and Princeton Avenue will be closed to through traffic and motorists will be detoured onto adjacent streets.
Notes
The 2024 Street Upgrades program is expected to operate through the end of September. The work is being performed by Galbraith Construction Ltd. A full list of streets identified for upgrades is available here.
The work performed, timelines and streets affected are all subject to change. The public will be notified of any major changes.
