Quispamsis to host 2024 Women’s Under-18 National Hockey Championship

QUISPAMSIS, NB – The 2024 Women’s Under-18 National Championship is coming to Quispamsis.

The eight-team tournament will be held November 3-9 at the qplex.

“We are thrilled to welcome the future stars of women’s hockey to Quispamsis,” said Mayor Libby O’Hara. “We continue to show that we are not only capable of hosting national and international events, but excel at presenting them. This is another feather in our cap as an attractive community for sports tourism.”

Host Team Atlantic will compete against Ontario Red, Ontario Blue, Quebec, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta and British Columbia.

It’s the first time the Women’s Under-18 National Championship will be held in Atlantic Canada.

“We are excited to once again partner with the Town of Quispamsis in the hosting of a prestigious event,” said Hockey New Brunswick president Todd Pye.

This is the fifth Hockey Canada event in Quispamsis in the last eight years.

Quispamsis hosted the 2023 Para Hockey Cup last December.

A USA/Finland pre-tournament game ahead of the 2023 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship, the 2018 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge (cohost) and the 2016 Telus Cup Under-18 Men’s National Championship were also held at the qplex.

Schedule and ticket information for the 2024 Women’s Under-18 National Championship will be released at a later date.
