Be aware of road construction as school year begins

The Town of Quispamsis’ 2024 Street Upgrades program will continue into September, beyond the start of the new school year for many students in our community.

Road work is underway at various locations including Princeton Ave, Kensington Ave, and Quispamsis Road.  On Quispamsis Road, near École des Pionniers, curb and sidewalk installation are underway. These and other upgrades may create delays for people driving or walking to and from school.

Construction sites can be dangerous. Please respect flag persons on site providing direction and guidance, along with barricades, pylons, signage and other construction-related materials put in place for your safety.

We encourage families with students to map out and check your route(s) to school, ahead of the start of the academic year, for any road work which may impede your progress. Walkers should identify the safest paths around construction sites.

Our contractors have been notified and are aware of the anticipated increase in traffic and will exercise all possible caution when young people may be present.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we enter the final few weeks of our annual street upgrades program.
