Recreation

It’s easy to get active in Quispamsis – there’s always something to see and do every season. There are many leisure activities throughout the town, and its close proximity to many other leisure activities across the region makes this community a recreational haven.

More than 40 sporting and recreational organizations directly serve the Kennebecasis Valley – offering something for all ages and interests. Judo, Hockey, Brownies, Tai Chi – you name it … you can find it here.

Some of the most picturesque waterways in Eastern Canada are readily accessible. Sailing enthusiasts can often be seen navigating the majestic Kennebecasis River which spans 40 kilometres. And the meandering Hammond River system is a local favourite for kayaking and canoeing.

Active Transportation Plan

Quispamsis is committed to offering diverse and environmentally friendly transportation options and has identified Active Transportation as an important part of the ongoing movement towards sustainable development.

Canadian Tire Jump Start Program

The Town of Quispamsis is a member of the Greater Saint John Chapter of the Canadian Tire Jump Start Program, helping young people increase their physical activity. Twice a year, funds are allocated to give children in need an opportunity to register for sports and recreation programs. The process is easy and done in confidence. For more information, to make a referral or register, contact Megan Lucas at 849-5773.

PRO Kids

PRO Kids is available to Quispamsis children and youth who, due to financial limitations, would otherwise be unable to participate in art, culture, recreation or sporting activities. PRO Kids enables more children to experience the many benefits of recreation. For information or an application contact PRO kids at 642-7529 or [email protected].
