In the event of an Emergency Dial 911

Police
The Rothesay Regional Police Force (RRPF) is responsible for policing the Town of Quispamsis, one of the safest places to live in Canada, based on data released by Statistics Canada.

The Crime Severity Index, a statistical assessment used by Statistics Canada, identifies the severity and level of police-reported crime in communities with a population of 10,000+. Out of 225 communities surveyed, the Kennebecasis Valley was ranked the fifth safest municipality with a very low CSI of 28.2. This positive community safety indicator is a direct result of strong citizen commitment towards public safety and the commitment of the Rothesay Regional Police officers.

CSI

Presently, RRPF consists of 31 officers, as well as 8 civilian staff and 7 auxiliary members. Specialized services include:

For non-emergency calls contact Ph. 847-6300 or 847-6228.

Fire

The Kennebecasis Valley Fire Department (KVFD) provides fire suppression and prevention services for the Town of Quispamsis. Established in 1924, the department has grown significantly over the years. The department currently provides services to the towns of Quispamsis, Rothesay, and portions of three local service districts encompassing a coverage area in excess of 112 square kilometers.

KVFD is a composite organization comprised of a Chief, Deputy Fire Chief; Divisional Fire Chief; 28 full-time firefighters; 6 casual firefighters, and 25-30 volunteer firefighters. Housed in two fire stations are two rapid intervention vehicles, three pumpers, three tankers, an equipment van, a Boston Whaler rescue boat, an all terrain vehicle and three service vehicles.

The department receives direction from a Board of Commissioners representing the Towns of Quispamsis and Rothesay. In addition to the primary areas of responsibility, the department is an active member of the Zone Two Mutual Aid Association which provides assistance to eight fire services in the area upon request.

Civic Address Signs

The Kennebecasis Valley Firefighters want to provide residents with the quickest possible response to any emergency. In order to help them find your home fast, they have for sale reflective civic numbers on an aluminum sign with a blue reflective background.

Signs come in three different sizes (depending on your street number) and have proven to be a great asset to emergency crews trying to find an address, especially after dark.

Cost: $15 per sign and can be ordered from the KV Fire Department at 848-6602.

For non-emergency calls contact Ph.848-6601 or 848-6602.
