Town-wide garbage, compost and bulky item pick-up is contracted to Fero, effective January, 2016. Curbside recycling will begin the week of May 9, 2016. For more information, please click here.

Composting

The Fundy Region Solid Waste Commission supplies each household in the Fundy Region with a compost cart for organics. The collectors provide a separate collection of organics on a biweekly basis. On compost days your organic container is to be placed at curbside for pick up.

Yard Waste

Yard waste will only be collected at the curb with compost. Yard waste includes leaves, brush, twigs, weeds and grass. Yard waste packaged in black or coloured plastic bags will not be collected.

Acceptable packaging for yard waste:

  • Compost Cart
  • Brown paper bag
  • Brush & twigs can be bundled and tied with string.
  • Bundles should be less than 4’ in length.
  • Branches no more than 2” in diameter.
  • Compostable or clear plastic bags

Bulky Items

Your garbage collector provides a regularly scheduled bulky item pick up year-round. The Town of Quispamsis pays contractors to provide homeowners this curbside service. Please contact your private hauler for more details.

Recycle Bins

Collect your household cardboard, paper & boxboard, plastic, metal & milk containers and bring them to the Blue Bins located at:

  • Ken Val Foodland (formerly Co op) located off Millennium Drive
  • Civic Drive (near KVFD Station 2) located adjacent to Walter Jewett Ball Field

The Blue Bins will be removed in June, after the launch of curbside recycling during the week of May 9.

KV Redemption Centre, a bottle exchange depot located adjacent to the Ken Val Foodland, will take your returnable bottles, cans, etc. in exchange for the going refund rates.  KV Redemption Centre will take back your old paint for recycling as well.

Household Hazardous Waste can be brought to the HHW facility at Crane Mountain Landfill Monday to Friday 7:30 am to 5 pm and Saturday from 8 am to noon.  For more information visit Fundy Recycles website or call 738-1212.
