Coun. Emil Olsen is serving his fourth term as Councillor after previously serving as Deputy Mayor. Emil was elected to Quispamsis Town Council in 2004.
He is a veteran member of council, having served as Mayor of Pre-Amalgamation Quispamsis from 1983 to 1995. Emil has been very active in Quispamsis since arriving in 1974. His Community Service Record is lengthy having participated on numerous provincial, regional and town committees. He is proud to have signed the original regional agreements for Fire, Police, Library and Ambulance service on behalf of the residents of Quispamsis and continues to support and recognize the strengths of our regional services.
Emil is a team player and wants to work with his fellow Councillors to address the challenges of our growing community. A regional water system, affordable housing for seniors, apartments properly located, regional recreational facilities, sidewalks, paving of roads and lighting are some of the priorities that need to be addressed.
Emil currently serves on the following committees: Climate Change Local Action, Nominating, qplex (Building), Fundy Region Solid Waste, Public Transit (COMEX) and Rothesay Regional Police Commission.
Emil and his wife Margot have four children and eight grandchildren. Emil is committed to providing his support and energy to oversee the continued growth of Quispamsis.
