Building Bylaw Changes
In anticipation of changes being made to the National Building Code and Provincial Building Codes Act, a new Building Bylaw has been introduced in a continual effort to ensure good quality construction takes place in Quispamsis.

from two points to five as follows:
1. Pre Footing
2. Foundation
3. Services (water and sewer)
4. Pre Drywall (after
plumbing and electrical)
5. Final
• Building inspections on major structures such as commercial,
institutional, industrial and some multiple residential will now
fall under the jurisdiction of the municipality.
• Permit fees have increased from $4.75/$1,000 to
$6.00/$1,000 as a result of increased inspection
requirements.
• Building deposits are now being collected at one percent of the
construction value up to a maximum of $2,000.
• Site drainage plans will require additional levels of information
as it will be used as the main resource for an application
regarding building location and elevations, drainage paths
and servicing.
